چکیده
As was hinted at above, the fragmentation is encoded by a bintree. By this method, the fragmentation can be described in high resolution near sharp edges, and in low resolution at places where the exact shape of a fragment has a minor impact on the distortion (see Fig. 2). To find the optimal bintree, we start with a maximum tree, and prune this tree by cutting off all branches where the marginal gain is less than p distortion-unitdbit.

Camera Arrangement in Visual 3D Systems using Iso-disparity Model to Enhance Depth Estimation Accuracy
In this paper we address the problem of automatic arrangement of cameras in a 3D system to enhance the performance of depth acquisition procedure. Lacking ground truth or a priori information, a measure of uncertainty is required to assess the quality of reconstruction. The mathematical model of iso-disparity surfaces provides an efficient way to estimate the depth estimation uncertainty which ...
متن کاملStereovision depth analysis by two-dimensional motion charge memories
Up to date several strategies of how to retrieve depth information from a sequence of images have been described. In this paper a method that turns around the symbiosis existing between stereovision and motion is introduced. The central idea behind our approach is to transpose the spatially-defined problem of disparity estimation into the spatial-temporal domain. Motion is analyzed in the origi...
متن کاملMultiresolution Estimation of 2-D Disparity Using a Frequency Domain Approach
An e cient algorithm for the estimation of the 2-d disparity between a pair of stereo images is presented. Phase based methods are extended to the case of 2-d disparities and shown to correspond to computing local correlation elds. These are derived at multiple scales via the frequency domain and a coarse-tone `focusing' strategy determines the nal disparity estimate. Fast implementation is ach...
متن کاملAn Evaluation Approach for Scene Flow with Decoupled Motion and Position
This chapter presents a technique for estimating the three-dimensional displacement vector field that describes the motion of each visible scene point. This displacement field consists of the change in image position, also known as optical flow, and the change in disparity and is called the scene flow. The technique presented uses two consecutive image pairs from a stereo sequence. The main con...
متن کاملTemporal consistent real-time stereo for intelligent vehicles
This paper presents a real-time stereo image sequences matching approach dedicated to intelligent vehicles applications. The main idea of the paper consists in integrating temporal information into the matching scheme. The estimation of the disparity map of an actual frame exploits the disparity map estimated for its preceding frame. An association between the two frames is searched, i.e. tempo...
